SPM Sejarah is a must-pass subject in order to pass the entire SPM examination. It comprises of three written papers where one is an open book test. Yes, that means you get to ping in your Form 4 and Form 5 text book to the exam! Examination Format of SPM Sejarah 2019

Teachers set by the Majlis Peperiksaan Malaysia (MPM) mark the papers. Your paper will usually be marked by at least two examiners.

SPM Sejarah 2019 Tips
Do's
- Pay extra attention to identify and understand important names and events. It’s easy to get mixed up especially if the names are familiar sounding, so remember their stories too.
- For Paper 3, the scoring system relies on 50% of fact and 50% on your opinion. Your opinions have to be logical and relevant to the question.
- For Paper 3, a general topic will usually be released prior to SPM to help students prepare. Make sure you are prepared and vigilant at all times.
- For paper 2, as long as you have time, write as many relevant answers as no marks are deducted for the wrong answer; as long as written in proper sentences.
Don'ts
- Don’t rely on ‘prediction papers’ solely. Make sure to use the SPM Tips Guide to see the past year analysis and plan your study from there.
- Don’t cram every single piece of information from the textbook in Paper 3 in hopes of getting a right answer. You will run out of time and your answer will be ‘terpesong’.
- Don’t rely 100% on the official textbook - make your own notes instead, and use a reference book.
- Do not write in short form. Example, write “Malayan Union” instead of MU.

- Tamadun Islam - There are questions every year, without fail.
- Same goes for Malayan Union - founded in 1946, April 1st, in Carcosa Seri Negara.
